Guidance on Flower Arranging
Garden club members often refer to the "Pink" and "Green" books for instruction and guidance on particular styles of flower arranging. The Pink book is really more of a coral color! Both are available for purchase on the Garden Club of Virginia website. Click below for a link to the GCV website.

Make an Easy Arrangement from a Grocery Store Bouquet
A garden club member bought an inexpensive Medley Bouquet at her local grocery store, then walked around her yard, gathering greenery and herbs to add to it. Added to the bouquet were rosemary, mint, dried goldenrod, pink viburnum, Nandina 'Firepower' and helleborus. One of the photos shows the container has a piece to hold the stems, however, a piece of balled up chicken wire or simply multiple stems of greenery such as nandina will help to hold the stems in place.
A family member saw the arrangement and thought it came from a florist. When told that Mom made it, he laughed and said "Mom, you ought to be in a garden club!" Thank goodness, she is.
